Koh Phangan is serviced by the nearby Koh Samui airport. Bangkok Airways operates over 20 flights daily between Bangkok and Koh Samui and Thai Airways also offers a few flights per day. As well, you may want to consider entering Thailand through Malaysia and flying with Air Asia and other discount airlines from Kuala Lumpur into the islands of Phuket or Samui.
Once you've landed at the Samui airport you can take a mini van that takes you to the Big Buddha Pier in about 10 minutes- there are many thai hosts available to guide you in this direction. From Big Buddha Pier you can relax on the Haad Rin Queen ferry for a 45 min. boat trip to Haad Rin Pier.
From Haad Rin, taxi boats are available to take you to either Haad Yuan or Haad Tien beaches. Haad Yuan is the preferred beach, but Haad Tien beach is also only a 5 minute walk. Bamboo huts is your destination on Haad Yuan, a location that will be known by all taxi boat drivers and local Thai’s.
We would recommend that you try to arrive in Samui at certain times throughout the day to make the connection with one of the ferries from Big Buddha Pier (10:30am, 1pm, 4pm, 6:30pm)
If you are coming from other parts of south east asia, you can get a complete list of all options for buses, trains and ferries to Haad Yuan, Koh Phangan Thailand at www.phangan.info (see Menu: The Essentials).
